Ben Fogle is a presenter, writer and adventurer and has hosted numerous programmes including BBC's Animal Park, Wild in Africa, Country File and Extreme Dreams. In 2000 Ben volunteered to be marooned on Taransay, a remote windswept island in the Outer Hebrides as part of the BBC's big millennium project Castaway 2000. In 2005 Ben rowed across the Atlantic with Olympic Gold Medallist James Cracknell, this incredible 50 day adventure has been documented on BBC1 and BBC2 and was followed up by a book in October 2006. In 2009 he teamed up wih James again to race 500 miles on foot across Antarctica to the South Pole as documented on the BBC series On Thin Ice. Ben has also raced 160 miles across the Sahara Desert in the notorious Marathon Des Sables. Ben has written four best selling books and has travelled extensively in South and Central America. He writes regularly for the Sunday Telegraph and the Independant. Ben is an ambassador for WWF, Medicins Sans Frontier and Tusk, a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the President of the Campaign for National Park's.
