Nicole Cooke is the British Olympic heroine having achieved the Gold medal in the Women's Road Race at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.  
 
She completed the challenging race in 3 hours 32 minutes and 24 seconds, in dreadful weather conditions, with a dramatic final bid for victory.  Nicole achieved the first Team GB Gold medal of the Beijing Olympics.  She is the first Welsh competitor to win an Olympic Gold for 36 years and also Britain's first Olympic Road Race medallist.
