Inspirational speaker, Pen Hadow, is set to return soon to the UK from the three-month, ground breaking scientific expedition, Catlin Arctic Survey, taken to help determine the lifespan of the Arctic Ocean's sea ice cover.
The findings are to be taken to the national negotiating teams working to replace the Kyoto Protocol agreement at the UN Climate Change Conference of Parties in Copenhagen in December 2009. The expedition has attracted immense global media coverage.
The director of WWF International Arctic Programme has said of the expedition: "The Catlin Arctic Survey seeks to have a discernible effect on increasing climate change awareness across the world and has the potential to make a lasting difference to policy-relevant science."
HRH Prince of Wales, at the Business at the Community May Day Summit 2009, stated: " I am anxious to be following Pen Hadow who speaks so brilliantly and who lays down the challenges and dangers we face so clearly. I am so grateful to him for taking the trouble to talk to us from the Arctic. "
