Phil Hammond is a doctor, writer, broadcaster, comedian and after dinner speaker. He qualified as a GP in 1991.He has toured the UK with “89 Minutes to Save the NHS”, and co-written a BBC 1 sitcom, “Doctors and Nurses” about the rivalry between two orthopedic surgeons on the Isle of Wight. Phil presented five series of “Trust Me, I’m a Doctor” on BBC2 and his book of the same name is a best seller. He is a regular on the “News Quiz” and “Have I Got News For You”. He is also the medical correspondent for Private Eye and the only comedian ever to appear at a Public Inquiry. Phil has been reported to the GMC, once, by William Hague’s Press Secretary!’
