Tim Minchin is an internationally acclaimed, award winning comedian, songwriter, singer and pianist. Originally from Perth, Tim is a popular performer on the UK scene, he has sold out his shows in London’s West End, around the UK, and internationally – in Canada and Australia. Tim has appeared on radio and television in the UK, US and Australia. Tim has featured on both Friday Night with Jonathon Ross (performing a bespoke song for Jonathan), and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
Tim has won two Chortle awards, and claimed another award for ‘Best Music or Variety Act’. Other recognitions of Tim’s achievements include the Perrier Best Newcomer award (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), Directors’ Choice award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for his breakout show Darkside, Best Alternative Comedy Act at the US Comedy Arts Festival (Aspen), and three-time Green Room Award Winner (Australia).
Tim wrote the music and lyrics for Matilda the Musical with the Royal Shakespeare Company. In 2012 he collected the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical. The production won a total of seven awards.
Tim is an Ambassador for The Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts and ran a Half Marathon on their behalf.
