Steve Smith is one of the country’s most sought after speakers and he has extensive experience of working with leading corporate, public sector and elite sporting organisations.
He has held the title of Britain’s most successful high jumper for 16 years now, triumphing in the World and European Championships, the Commonwealth Games and most famously the 1996 Olympic Games. His credits also include captaining the British team in 1998, in their most successful ever European Championships.
Since retiring through injury in 1999, Steve went on to become a successful restaurateur, a television and radio broadcaster, and is now the Director of one of the UK’s leading training and development companies.
Steve’s presentations are interactive and engaging, as he takes the audience through his incredible Olympic journey, using television footage and visual props. His business experience makes him the ideal choice for corporate engagements, although his delivery uses sporting metaphors from his sporting experiences that relate to personal and business development.
“The feedback from the team at Boots after Steve spoke at our communications event was over-whelmingly positive. Steve is a very engaging speaker and has a fantastic ability to draw parallels between his experiences as a top class athlete and the challenges of the commercial world. He was able to inspire a diverse (and sometimes cynical!) cross-section of people with everybody coming away from the event feeling energised and motivated. I’m now looking at opportunities to work with Steve again in the future, to build on the fantastic success of this initial presentation.” Boots
