Steve is the former England Wheelchair Rugby Captain and competed in the London Olympics. He is currently an outstanding motivational speaker and event host as well as regular media appearances including BBC’s Countryfile and The One Show.
Wheelchair Rugby is the fastest growing disability sport. The game is exhilarating to watch. Tickets for this sport, in the Paralympic Games, sold out immediately. Despite being paralysed from the chest down Steve has achieved staggering levels of fitness and ability in the sport and went on to become Captain of the Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby Team. He has had his fair share of set backs – in Germany he broke his sternum and seven ribs on the court. Sadly, this meant he didn’t make the Olympic squad for Beijing 2008 but went on to compete at London 2012
Steve is an inspiring and powerful speaker and mentor for both students and conference delegates – feed back includes: “The fact that, from being injured he turned all the negatives around and achieved something really amazing was very inspirational. It makes me want to not to give up with things, but to keep going until I have succeeded.” Alice Wilkening, St Lawrence College Kent
He has been sponsored by Sky television and stared in “Incredible Athletes” for Channel 4. Steve has taken part in numerous television/media interviews. He is also a regular contributor to BBC’s Countryfile and The One Show.
“Steve was phenomenal. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. He’s such an inspirational speaker and stayed right on our conference theme. You could have heard a pin drop during his talk.” NAHL Group Ltd Conference 2019
