John has won the Wild Screen UWE Popular Broadcast Award, plus Comedian of the Year at the GQ Men of the Year Awards, Previous awards include winning the Best Male Breakthrough Artist at the British Comedy Awards.
He was awarded an honorary fellowship at Liverpool John Moores University in recognition of his contribution to the arts and his charity work.
John won the Celebrity Animal Champion award at the RSPCA Honours Awards for his work with rescue animals.
In 2019, John received an Honorary Doctor of Arts degree from Manchester Metropolitan University. This was to mark his charity work and the contributions he has made to comedy and the arts.
