Annie Voller – in celebration of the Paralympics

Dreams make you resilient, never lose sight of the dream.  The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games were a testament of sporting prowess from world class athletes competing to defend titles, achieve world records and go for the Gold Olympic medals. Annie Voller is a TV Presenter, radio broadcaster, journalist , media entrepreneur, public speaker, well being activist, voice artist and co founder of the global on line Digital Radio Station www.nobarriersradio.com.  She has been a passionate advocate of  building the Paralympics audience, during the Games and beyond.

In Celebration of the Paralympics

The Paralympics breaks people’s barriers of understanding and shows what they are capable of.  One such person who has broken through, is the Deaf Actress and BBC Strictly Winner Rose Ayling Ellis.  Rose was the first deaf presenter to host live sports coverage at The Paris 2024 Paralympics. What this shows, is that with the right training and opportunity broadcasting is a viable career and www.nobarriersradio.com offers that unique opportunity .

‘The Non Practising Athlete’ trying out Olympic Sports.

Since covering and reporting at the fantastic London Olympics, Annie really got into the Olympics spirit.  She went on to set herself the goal of trying out (nearly) all the 2012 Olympics Sports. She freely calls herself a ‘non practicing Athlete.’  Undaunted though, Annie made her Olympic debut. Motivated  by leading sports people and their support teams she hit the track, field , courts, bikes and water. The experience was at turns hilarious, painful and quite frankly crazy. When asked if she would do it again, the answer was a resounding No.

Resilience

However, it was while reporting on various conflicts and the military withdrawal from Afghanistan, that Annie saw the mental and physical impact caused by active combat on serving forces personnel.  Consequently, she was compelled to create a totally unique, broadcast radio opportunity – No Barriers Radio.  Created for those serving and ex forces personnel with, and without disabilities to explore and springboard themselves, into presenting, pod casting, broadcasting and journalism.  A global on-line Radio Station with up to 100,00 plus listeners was formed.
