Carol Smillie is very much in demand in the corporate market as a host for company conferences and award ceremonies due largely to her sense of humour and warmth with people. Carol was chosen to host the Duke of Edinburgh’s 80th birthday celebrations at the Royal Albert Hall. She has won a National TV award, an INDIE award and was nominated for a BAFTA.
She began her career as the hostess of ITV’s WHEEL OF FORTUNE and after this she was a reporter on BBC2’s TRAVEL SHOW and after two years became a regular on BBC1’s HOLIDAY. BBC2’s SUMMER HOLIDAY and HOLIDAY SWAPS quickly followed and for three years she fronted the NATIONAL LOTTERY. She has also fronted five series of DREAM HOLIDAY HOMES on 5 and was a popular participant in the BBC’s STRICTLY COME DANCING.
However the show she is best known for is BBC’s CHANGING ROOMS – this programme earned Carol invitations to Buckingham Palace and DownIng Street and the big Red Book on THIS IS YOUR LIFE.
