Dame Ellen MacArthur

Dame Ellen MacArthur became the fastest person to sail single-handed around the world non-stop – completing the grueling trip in an amazing 71 days 14 hours 18 minutes and 33 seconds. She achieved this victory in February 2005 in her 75 ft trimaran BandQ and was praised by the Queen for her “remarkable and historic achievement”.  She now heads up the hugely successful Ellen MacArthur Foundation – which promotes and supports the environmental circular economy globally.
