Funny, light hearted, but always meticulously researched and well informed, David Allen’s talks are not to be missed, and as an audience member you are guaranteed to come away in a good mood, almost always having learnt something, from Victorian history through to film set gossip about Hollywood greats.
A storyteller with a fascination for history and an eye for the absurd, David Allen is a very popular speaker as his talks are both fun and thought provoking. All his talks are taken either from his own life experience – in his professional life as a solicitor – or are based on hours, days and weeks of tireless historical research, trawling through the archives and records dating back to the 1800s.
In addition to public speaking, David also performs in stage shows of The Amazing Mr Dickens, & Blood Guts & Gore with his theatre company Victorian Emporium Theatre. As part of his research for his Jack –A Ripping Yarn talk, David has just completed a 3 week run in Crow Theatre’s hit immersive theatre show, Jack the Ripper’s London [4* Time Out] which has been nominated for an Off West End Award 2012.
His most popular talks include: Victorian History, The Weird & wonderful World of the Law and Directors, Divas & Back stage Rows …
