Fiona Armstrong is a writer, broadcaster, popular conference presenter and awards host. Her work is varied – from presenting the nightly news and current affairs programmes for Border TV, to fronting a cookery series, Easy as Pie for the Carlton Food Network where she demonstrated her skills in the kitchen. Fiona has made other programmes for the ITV network, on subjects from Health and Slimming to Fishing and Antiques.
Fiona is a former ITN newscaster, a presenter on News at Ten and News at Five Forty. She also travelled to Africa twice, firstly to report on the plight of Aids orphans in Uganda and then to cover a royal tour. Since leaving ITN in 1992, Fiona has filmed Executive Lifestyles for NBC, she has presented BBC World News and done two series of shows for Radios Two and Four. She has also written a cookbook and two fishing books. She is an occasional presenter on Sky TV’s Tight Lines fishing programme.
Fiona enjoys corporate work. At one conference, she was holding daily question and answer sessions for hundreds of business people at London’s Alexandra Palace. She is a businesswoman, with her own production company in the south of Scotland, where she produces films and books for ITV and for video markets.
In her spare time, she loves to fish and cook.
