Wildlife photographer, Hamza Yassin, is an excellent choice to inspire corporate audiences with his new illustrated speech. His story is one of overcoming adversity. Hamza’s charming and positive attitude helped make him the hugely popular winner of Strictly 2022.
Hamza Yassin, is a renowned wildlife photographer, ornithologist, conservationist and television presenter. He presents CBeebies Let’s Go for a Walk, Countryfile, Channel 4’s My Life in the Wild. He came to further prominence as the popular winner of BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing 2022
Hamza is a passionate, exciting and highly knowledgeable on-screen wildlife cameraman and photographer with a wonderfully warm and accessible presenting style that is set to make him a huge star of the Natural History television genre.
His first foray into presenting was on BBC’s The One Show as one of their new wildlife cameramen. Hamza is presenter (under the guise of Ranger Hamza) of the hugely popular CBeebies’ live-action show Let’s Go For A Walk. Hamza’s newest CBeebies’ series, Ranger Hamza’s Eco Quest, is also set to be a great success. He can also be regularly spotted presenting and sharing his vast knowledge and camera skills on BBC’s Countryfile and ITV’s This Morning. Hamza is the presenter and cameraman for Channel 4 ‘s documentary ‘Scotland: My Life in the Wild’ and Scotland: Escape to the Wilderness, in which he guided celebrity companions on journeys through western and eastern Scotland and the Highlands. He has also joined the team of wildlife experts on BBC One’s Animal Park.
Hamza’s impressive qualifications are a Masters Degree (MSc.) in Biological Imaging and Photography with Merit in addition to his Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Zoology with Conservation. He has a passion for birds, is a skilled ornithologist and bird nest recorder with excellent field craft and habitat knowledge. Hamza is also a published wildlife photographer as well as a wildlife tour guide. Hamza has assisted wildlife cameraman Jesse Wilkinson on projects including a film insert for Springwatch 2015, filming a Sparrow hawk sequence for Silverbacks ‘The Hunt’ narrated by Sir David Attenborough and a film sequence about the British obsession with egg collecting! He produced a promotional video for the 25th Anniversary of the Bird Fair in Rutland. Hamza lives in a rural part of the west coast of Scotland, with wildlife and nature right on his doorstop as a constant inspiration for his work. In his spare time, Hamza competes in the Highland Games.
Hamza is passionate about wildlife, conservation and sustainability and champions dyslexics and other neurodiverse differences as being positive gifts rather than being a disability. He is much in demand as an inspirational speaker and appeals to anyone who has a love of nature.
Hamza addresses a wide range of topics from his arduous journey of becoming a wildlife photographer to his Strictly triumph! He shares stunning images of his young life in Sudan and his travels around the world as a cameraman. Hamza will also discuss his most recent accomplishment of presenting a new Birds of Prey documentary and writing his book ‘Be a Birder’ published by Gaia (imprint of Octopus) in September 2023 in addition he talks about his struggles with dyslexia openly and how, despite having dyslexia, you can still achieve your dreams by overcoming adversity.
