Ian Smith
Former VP Oracle UK and previously MD of BT UK Customer Service, Ian runs a leading consultancy and is much in demand as an executive mentor and coach as well as being an accomplished motivational and business speaker. He is currently the Chairman of Young Enterprise UK
In October 2011, he was appointed as Chairman of Vaultex UK Ltd. He has recently been appointed to the Advisory Board of Morgan Franklin UK.
He has served on a number of charitable and public bodies that valued his expertise in leadership & management, customer service and ICT. For example he sat on the E-Skills Board, the CBI President’s Committee and chaired the Leadership & Management Panel on behalf of the UK Government. He has served as the Prince of Wales’ Ambassador for South East England, acted as a trustee on the Board of Business in the Community (BITC), and held the post of President of the Institute of Customer Services from its inception.
He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, a Fellow of the City & Guilds Institute, a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute, and an Honorary Fellow of Liverpool John Moores University.
