Nina Conti is an award winning comedienne and ventriloquist. She left the Royal Shakespeare Company to pursue comedy. Since then she has since stormed events from Harrah’s Casino in Las Vegas to the Edinburgh Festival with her sidekick Monk.
Nina performs a contemporary and alternative form of ventriloquism. Always brilliantly funny. Her own clean-cut image and Monk’s cutesy appearance are juxtaposed with his more basic and aloof style. The combination is technically perfect and produces a frankly hilarious performance.
Nina’s many live performances include Let Me Out, a one-woman farce written especially for her by Ken Campbell. She has also appeared as a weather presenter (with Monkey) in the Hollywood film For Your Consideration. Plus as Dylan Moran’s ex-girlfriend (without Monkey) in Black Books. Other TV credits include Ant & Dec’s Saturday Take Away, BBC1’s Comic Relief, Loose Women. Plus the ITV comedy series, Single, The Late Late Show for RTE1, C4’s Blunder.
Nina’s ventriloquism documentary, Her Master’s Voice, has won an international film award, the SXSW Audience Award and the BBC have bought it to broadcast on BBC4. The Huffington post described it as “an astonishingly successful documentary.” The Moveable Fest named her as “untouchable in her craft.”
Nina has also recently finished filming a second documentary for BBC 4 featuring Nina and Monkey’s search for enlightenment. It is a journey through Britain’s new age therapies and practices.

“I wanted to write to thank you for helping me with booking Nina for our event last week, and to ask you to pass on our thanks to Nina for coming to do it. I had fairly high expectations, having been a fan of Nina for a long time, but I confess my expectations were surpassed. She was just brilliant. Not only was she just genius funny on stage, but she was also really lovely to work with and a huge pleasure to have around. The feedback has been universally and unashamedly positive, and she has helped to deliver what I think was our most successful meeting ever. Please do let Nina know how well received she was, and thank her again for taking the time.” Pfizer Ltd Oncology Business unit
