Motivational speaker Sir Robin Knox-Johnston is an international yachting legend. He was the first person to ever sail solo non-stop around the world in 1968-69. Subsequently he has held the records for sailing round Ireland, the British Isles and the world. In 2006 stung by comments from younger sailors that he was too old, he raced solo around the world, coming 4th in the Velux5oceans race.
Television
He has made a series of films with John Simpson and Sir Ranulph Fiennes called “Top Dogs.” Adventures with Sir Chris Bonington include parachuting and flying. Sir Robin still dives for pleasure.
Motivational speaker
He is the Chairman of a public Company, Clipper Ventures plc, which enables complete novices to train and sail around the world. In addition and as a result of his life of adventure he is an extremely effective motivational speaker, as well as an amusing after dinner speaker.
